about

Government Issue was a band from Washington DC that was active from June 1980 until they disbanded in June of 1989. Their only consistent member was a man called John Stabb. He died of stomach cancer on May 7, 2016. All that knew him, and those who heard his music will miss him forever. This recording of the Government Issue was made in Baltimore on March 20, 1987. The line up was John Stabb - voice, Tom Lyle - guitar, J. Robbins - bass/vocals, and Peter Moffett - drums. The song was originally written and recorded by Void, a hardcore band from Columbia, Maryland that was active from 1981 until the broke up in 1984.
